Almost all of the books that I read this month were Facebook suggested. They were suggested through adds, as well as reels. I did take a break between the two series for one suggested by a friend.
Found Family
“But how do you feel about tacos?” I cross my arms. He studies me before huffing out another laugh. “I fucking love tacos.” I relax, glad one of the biggest relationship hurdles we’ve ever faced in our five minutes of dating has been jumped over. “That could have been a deal-breaker, dude.” I smile like I’m joking. But I’m really not. Kade’s really hot. But…Tacos.”
“I’m worth billions, but I would trade it all for her ring on my finger”
“You, Evie. Whatever size you’re at.. Whether it’s ten or twenty – four. It doesn’t matter. You are my type”
“We’re an organism. A living, breathing system. Just like a body can’t function without a liver, or a heart, or kidneys, we can’t function without each other. Together, our parts make up a whole. If you weren’t you, then none of this would exist.”
“So why can’t I stop thinking about the frumpy woman who’s taken over my marketing department? She’s constantly getting lost”
“I didn’t notice her. I treated her like I do all my employees. Janey’s now at the very top of the MATTERS category. I want to be her husband. When she goes missing, I realize I’m done waiting.”
Hockey Romance
“I have feelings for you, songbird.” My heart pounds, and the rest of the bar falls away. “I like you so fucking much. I don’t want to pretend I don’t anymore. I flew out here for you.” Something expands in my chest, filling every corner with an intense warmth. Our gazes are locked, and my arms are still around her, keeping her close. “I don’t want to fight this anymore.”
“If I have anything to say about it, this’ll be your last first date, Mia. So I wanted to make it memorable.”
“I only have one love now—the home furnishings business I’m building into an empire. Maybe money and success can’t love me back, but they keep what’s left of my heart safe. One-night stands are my way of scratching the occasional itch I get for something more.”
“He’s a hockey star with a headboard full of notches. She’s a shy NHL concession worker who’s never been kissed.”
“I’m content with life—loving it, even—or so I thought. But when I meet a beautiful pastry chef with a broken heart and a smile that softens me down to my soul, I realize I wasn’t really content at all before her.”
“Admitting your fears to yourself is the first step in cleansing them from your body. And it’s the hardest part.”
“It made me wonder if home really was a place, or if it was more about who was there waiting for you at the end of the day.”
